Yes, I'm nanny deprived

Came across THIS fun website. Check it out! I won't need the bottle of mommy spit, but I love the nanny quiz. I answered yes to waaaaay too many of the questions.

We headed to try out a new church today. The people were very welcoming and have many things going on during the week...we may have found our church. Speaking of church, CJ loves, and I mean LOVES going to Sunday School. She is such a sponge, she picks up on the songs and lessons so quick! She is also a bit too clever for her own good. She will sing/use the song Jesus Loves Me. You know how it goes.....for the Bible tells me to: go to the park/watch a movie/eat a snack. Insert what ever her heart desires, the Bible tells her to do it. Not sure that this is any better than the "devil made me do it" excuse.

Laurelei is busy, growing up. She is really getting a personality and it has been a joy watching her figure things out. She is a daddy's girl --if he has ice cream, and has figured out how to sign please and how to use it. Really, if you are 13mos, cute, and signing please, who is going to say no?

The other big news is we got fish. The cheap goldfish kind. CJ named them, Kelly, Kelly, Kelly, Candy and poop. We informed her we don't name things poop, so it is CooCoo. We also got 2 snails and a betta. Both girls have enjoyed having them and CJ asks more questions than you thought possible concerning the habits of fish. Each answer has a follow up, "Becuase why?". She stops you before you can even use, just because with that question. My brain is fried from trying to come up with answers she will understand and accept.

Pictures

We have taken in a few of the local sites. Here is Laurelei watching a Dolphin at the aquarium, and the USS Lexington.

TOYS?? Who needs toys when you have bags to play with! The girls have been overwhelmed with our stuff arriving and playing with everything, for a moment then moving on to the next "new" toy. We also had a picnic by the shore and walked the pier at sunset with Great Grandma.

This one is for Mikey. Eric LOVED making his Star Wars Easter eggs. They turned out pretty cool too.

Back online

We have re-joined the connected world. Quick update and a few pictures. Our stuff did not arrive in the condition we had it packed in. We have lots of more unpacking to do, I'm sure our claims list will grow. However, the Wine packed with the computer, all made it safe and sound. Eric did a better packing job on stuff that should never be packed together than the pros did on the normal stuff.

At the beach...only once so far....wine and computer box

Easter festivities

We already had our first visitor! The girls got to see Great Grandma Helen on her way back to Iowa after wintering in TX.

Getting closer

We are living in lodging on base, until next Tuesday. Makes me appreciate and miss the AF. We should get our house released to us on Tuesday and our household goods shortly there after. Tomorrow the high is suppose to be 90! Would like to check out the beach, but with spring break starting, we may avoid it for the next week.

The girls are doing well, Panther is even able to stay with us. We head out to parks daily and are slowly getting to know the area. Eric got his squadron selection and will be flying the TC-12. He doesn't start until April 18th which means he'll get plenty of time to study before class starts, and help get the house sorted out. Still not sure which aircraft he will get when he is done, but crossing our fingers for a C-12 tour.

A few odds and ends. On our drive, CJ was much more excited to play the states game. We practiced saying Alabama, Mississippi, and Louisiana. However, she never quite got it right and still refers to it as Louisbanana.
Little Miss Laurelei has decided that since she is one, she is a big girl. She is independent and wants to do everything like CJ. We had tacos the other night, and she would only eat if I held it like a taco for her to take bites from. Okay, she was willing to hold it herself, but she was making a big enough mess with me holding it, I couldn't stand watching more food hit the floor.

I had hoped to have pictures for you. Eric even kept our main computer out for us to take with ourselves...however, after he packed it up in a big box, with wine (I tell you, the past week he has really worked hard to earn the dumbest husband award) he left it by the front door on the day the truck was loading up our stuff....so I guess we'll see if it survived the trip next week. I do love him, but lately it is as if he has no brain to engage. He even made the comment that he has been spacey....um spacey is one thing, he is operating in an entirely different universe I think.

So on that note, I'm going to go check on bath time and will upload pictures next week.

Update

After a few more hurdles, a new battery for the van, and check out...we got out of FL about 2pm on Saturday. Today we made it to Texas. CJ couldn't be happier! Oh wait, she could be, she would like this hotel to be our house because it has a pool and she has informed us several times that she LOVES to swim. Tomorrow we have another 3+hr drive, then Eric will check in and we will hopefully get housing too. I know, a tall order.

The girls, all three of them, have done wonderfully this trip! Eric had the van and dog Saturday and told me it was too quiet. This morning as he took over driving with the girls, CJ put up a fuss and when we stopped for breakfast, 15mins later, he was ready to trade back. I did drive the van all day, and had the radio off and enjoyed the scenery a bit, without constantly giving a are we there yet update.

All for now...off to bed.

The packers are coming, the packers are coming

Tomorrow morning. By 8:30 my washer will be braced up and unusable, the packers will be here and I don't think we are too far behind schedule of our own. Eric has been a big help, although not always prioritizing the same way I would, he has been going through stuff and actually getting rid of stuff this time around.
The girls and I will run a few errands and head over to story hour to stay busy. CJ has her last speech session and if the weather is nice we may hit a park on the way home. We will have cable, phone and internet turned off tomorrow as well. *GULP* no computer!! We are unplugging and it feels good.
My hope is that the truck will get loaded up quicker this time than it did in ND. They took for-ev-eh! Friday I want them gone before 5 so I can do touch up cleaning, get the carpets cleaned and to bed at a reasonable time, all so we can check out Saturday morning. We have met special people here that we will miss. But we knew this was a temporary move and I'm ready to leave FL. Now TX was not where we were suppose to be heading, but lets hope that there is a bigger plan. My personal one includes a future in Alaska, but we'll see. Good bye for now, we'll be back soon.CJ has loved having Eric around more. Here she has roped him into blow drying her hair.

Lumberjacks

I'm a HUGE Monty Python fan...I'm slowly getting Eric to enjoy them...but of course one of the favorite songs is the Lumberjack song ---Let me share with you!

I love my lumberjack.

Fourth

Today we left the house, cleaning, packing, and moving stuff and went to take in the local lumberjack festival. We all had a blast! It was great weather..in the 70s and lots of space for the girls to run around.
CJ squeezed a python, did a softball throw, basketball shoot, made a bird feeder and a bird house and finally got a butterfly painted on her face.

The girls enjoying a snack break. Eric threw in the knife and axe throwing competitions and tied for fourth place with his friend Mikey.

Alexis and I teamed up for the women's cross cutting event, and also got fourth place. The key is to get a good starting groove and to pull, never push --for all you who would like to try it sometime. It was fun and fourth place means you don't have to stay around to the end for the awards ceremony. All in all, we all enjoyed our first ever lumberjack festival and our well deserved break from the to do lists at home.
