here they are

Silly hair day.  Laurelei actually wanted her hair done, with 3 pony tails she told me. Not to be out done, CJ then needed three, but was disappointed that they didn't stick out, so I looped them, and they were floppy.
The Gazelle, can be used in so many ways, and is now the favorite toy...so it is hard for mom to even get a turn.

Hello handsome

Recently, we have seen clouds...even some rain last week.  Typically our sky is bright blue, and hard to look at even when not looking anywhere close to the sun.

growing, growing, growing

Lately I have been noticing that CJ appears to be taller and maybe older.  Pants are the best indicator, but when the weather is in the triple digits, one does not wear pants.  Laurelei is talking more and more each day, using manners, and stating her case, which is fun but also means 2 chatterboxes going at once.  Kjetil is playing more and more and reacting to everything around him, and in the past month, he did gain just over a pound and weighed in today at 15lbs.

Is there a way to bottle all of this up, to stop the natural progression?  I suppose not.  I can capture some of it through pictures and videos.  This past weekend I did pull out the camera to 'catch the moments'.

I'll upload it and post it soon, but that would be admitting that the kids are growing and changing.  I guess I'm not just quite ready for that, yet.  We've been busy and not home much the past few days, so maybe tomorrow I'll hook the camera up to upload the pictures...we'll see how I feel after that.

Heeeee's MOBILE!

I guess I can't deny it any longer. He has been rolling back-n-forth, scootin' in circles, getting tangled in anything and everything, then today, I set him on the floor (as I was watching 2 additional little girls) to assist with crayon clean up, in less than 5 minutes of time, he had rolled himself about six feet, from the carpeted floor to the tile. He.Is.Mobile.
Last night I taped him playing, rolling around, playing peek a boo, and all the fun things that babies do. Here is one short video that gives you just a taste of his activities, but shows off his GREAT dimpled smile!

Next Tuesday is his weight check appt. He has also begun to be VERY interested in the food that we are eating, sigh, I guess I need to get ready to introduce solids soon. How fast they grow!

Catching up

Last Thursday, Eric's parents made a trip here, it was so much fun to have them, CJ wanted them to stay until February or March, or at least until May 30th, but their return tickets said Tuesday, so we said our sad goodbyes around lunch time, and have been getting back into our groove again.  We had triple digit tempratures the whole time they were here, but have had a bit of a "relief" since then, it has only been 99 degrees.  No fear, Saturday makes a return to the triple digits, for another week.

We tried to have a balance of fun adventures and a few home projects.  I think we did alright.
They got a tour of the base, we went to the top of Senital Peak, checked out petroglyphs, and saw amazing sights from Mt Lemmon and the top of the ski lift.  For home projects, they helped paint the girls' bedroom, install a ceiling fan in the kitchen, outside lights, and change the valve on our toilet.  We grilled out, pulled out the pool, and went for walks around the neighborhood.  Even though it was hot, we made bread, cookies, ribs, and for a special cool treat, we made the best ice cream around!  Enjoy the pictures.

We made a paper chain counting down until August.  Every day CJ tries to speed the time up.

Good bye Pepto!

When we moved in, the girls' room was this AWFUL pepto color.  I couldn't stand it!  I wouldn't go into the room until it was dark!  Please refer back to my March post with the bunk beds if you want to see, I can't bare to post again.  But we have remedied the situation.  We compromised on one wall, and made stripes leaving a bit of pink.  The rest of the walls are a VERY LIGHT purple.  Added some wonderful Home Decor appliques, and it is finished!  Whew....now I can help them clean and put away their toys during the day.

Although we did most of it during the little ones' nap time, CJ did help with the painting.
So did Grandma Linda!

CJ didn't understand that leaning against wet paint was not a good idea, she did it several times.

Today she was my big helper again.

It is finished, and SO much more pleasing to the eye!

For all my nursing mama friends.....

Happy Mothers Day!!

My favorite gift to expecting mothers has recently been nursing covers that I make for each one.  There is a popular brand called Hooter Hiders, so that is how I affectionately refer to my cover.  Better than a blanket, it has straps that are adjustable and go around my neck, which prevents baby from pulling it down, at an inopportune time.  Light weight and the perfect size also makes it better than a blanket!  So why might a Mother want one?  Because often we are nursing on demand.  Which means sometimes at restaurant, the mall, a food court:

Great for traveling, on an airplane, or for a sun shield for the stroller or carseat, a quick cover for the floor or ground for baby to play on.

Or nursing on a ski lift.

Or while riding side saddle;
mamas often have to stop and nurse no matter what they are busy doing.
