Time with Grandma

Over fall break, the kids had a wonderful chance to catch up with Grandma!  Most days it felt like we were busy with basic kid activities and stuck at home or near home anyways.  Even at home though we had fun!

 Silly faces

More silly faces

Lots of active reading!

Honestly we were so busy we didn't take too many pictures around the house!  Halloween Bingo was played lots along with arts and crafts and the dreaded chore of sorting out dresser drawers. Thanks Grandma, hope you come back again soon!

business mind

Young children seem to come to an age where they feel the NEED to have a lemonade stand.  I had put off the pestering as long as I could.

 Ready to go!
 Grandma was her first customer!
She let her siblings drink for free.
 Giving directions to Daddy
The sun was nice but made it warm.

Soon there were several kids from the neighborhood out and helping her.  She made over $9! Which is remarkable living on a dead end street, at the dead end!  She intends to use the money to buy gifts for her sister and brother, awwww!

Sharing the love

Today I am participating in a bit of a pay it forward campaign in the blogger world.  The idea comes from: Lessons Line upon Line who is playing from another blog. See how easy it is to spread the love?

The fall weather has lifted everyone's spirit around here and many of you are experiencing the fall colors.  Enjoy every moment!
This is what fall here looks like

This is what I think fall should look like

To share I am hosting a give away.  It will be a simple homemade prize and I will give a way to at least 3 people.

Rules:
1.  Post a comment on this blog
2. When you comment on this post, you agree you will play too (a.k.a. pay it forward). Share the giving love on your blog by promising to send a handmade goodie to the first three people that comment on your blog post.
3. You must have a blog.
4. After commenting on my post,  you post this (or similar) on your blog to spread the love.

However, for those of you who don't have a blog, you can play too! Find little ways to share with others. If you are crafty, use your skills to brighten someone's day, give a call to someone you haven't spoken to in awhile and let them know you are thinking of them.  Smile at people.
If you don't have a blog, but would like to play, I don't mind having a separate category for you. In your comment, tell me how you will pay it forward to at least 3 others and I will send you a goodie as well.

Look, I have just now promised 6 goodie prizes.  I better get off here and get some goodies made, and to Kelley, I KNOW I still have yours to mail off, I haven't forgotten, but you WILL get it before Christmas, I promise! -and you can play this one too if you like.

She did it!

CJ had her first hair salon experience.  Like any practical mother, I have always trimmed her hair.  However, she really wanted to donate her hair to the Locks of Love organization. After waiting and waiting several months to have enough hair to do so (10 inches) we were able to head in during fall break.

She loves it! She brags that it only takes her 8 seconds to brush her hair.  I think it makes her look a bit more grown up, therefore, I don't like it.  It is cute and she is as well, and of course I like it, sort of.
