Water has broken, leaving for the hospital...time to get this show on the road!
Lincoln Anderson Ryan
born October 26, 8:37pm
7lbs 9 oz 20 inches
Things were progressing, I had been having intense painful contractions for about 3hrs at 2 minutes a part or less, inside was not progressing as quickly as I had hoped. I relented to the pain and frequent contractions and agreed to an epidural. About an hour after the epidural, we were very glad that I had one, so that I could remain awake for the emergency c-section. He was in distress and it was unclear as to why. Let me tell you though, when the doctors and specialists swarm your room and talk to each other and say things like "I've all ready let them know that she's going to bump the other 2 c sections waiting" you know things are very serious and don't question the decision.
After he was born and we were back in the room our wonderful nurse sat down and talked with us. She explained more about the placenta abruption that had happened and how we were extremely lucky to have caught it when we did. This is when the placenta separates from the uterus and deprives the baby of much needed oxygen and blood. For more scary information click here.
We are grateful for God's protection and watching over each of us during all of this. While his color was awful when born, everything else looked great and after he found his lungs, his color began to pink up.
On Saturday when everyone was able to come and visit, each wanted to hold him right now! They did a pretty good job of taking turns, even Grandma and Daddy.
She has a touch with him and will sit patiently for 20 minutes or more and doesn't mind if he gets fussy, even though he doesn't with her.
I'm afraid at what these two are already cooking up!
No more seriousness! Come back for all the fun and giggles we had, while in the hospital!
