I can do that....for I am woman, hormonal and pregnant, oh and because I'm the mommy.
I'm pulling CJ out of swimming lessons. We will no longer go to the pool, the beach or even the aquarium. Showers only from now on.
Why you ask??? Because of what has happened with swim lessons!
Yesterday we went to the pool, the first time since last weekend. CJ has had 5 swim lessons. FIVE and only five. But she now can swim underwater, turn and dive down to get the dive sticks. She is busy swimming several feet (okay only 5-10 ft, but hear me out), is constantly flipping over under water coming up back floating then turning and swimming away. NO, this is NOT I repeat NOT acceptable!!! Last weekend she was jumping in, splashing around, and holding her breath for 3 maybe 4 seconds underwater. Five lessons later, she looks like a real swimmer. She is floating and kicking, diving and twisting. Oh sure, most of you would be proud of your little one's progress, and I am...but not what it means.
See her goal, since moving here and seeing the awesome huge slide at the pool, is to go down the slide. She has done this, and we have caught her at the bottom in 4ft of water at water parks and hotels. She has fun and I would love for her to continue to. This slide however, dumps her into 9, yes NINE feet of water! She knows she has to pass the swim test, and every day she is determined to work on her swimming so she can take the test. Last Sunday, I humored her and encouraged her to practice. Five swim lessons later, and it is a real possibility that this summer she could pass that test! She is 3, or as she would say FREE!
Thus, I have changed my mind. No more fun water things for her. NONE! That will include fishing and boating, the back yard sprinkler and squirt bottles. Her swim suits are being tossed tonight!
I'm very serious about this.
Okay, she can finish her lessons, and well I'm sure the beach we will visit, and we bought the pool season pass...but if she is actually about to pass that test...well maybe I'll find a sign that says she has to be 4....I'm the mommy, and I am sure that it is in the mommy handbook that I get to make all the rules for the big slide at the pool.

You know what I wouldn't even let my 9 year old go down a slide that ended in 9 feet of water even if he could swim. You make the rules and I would do the same thing as you and tell them that you have to be a certain age to do that stuff.
You go woman! I would make up a mommy sign too! I can't believe she can do all that stuff!
I really can't believe she can do it either!!!
