Sew busy

That's right...a relatively new hobby at our house is sewing.  I have made curtains, diapers and a hooter hider, along with a shirt for myself, that currently I can't wear, and a couple of dresses for the girls.  I stay simple with mostly basic stitching.  Eric has tackled dresses for the girls that involved zippers, gathering and rick rack.  Most projects are joint. Eric seems to have issues with our self threading machine and doesn't like to pick out material and accessories.  I have grand ideas but am too impatient to actually work with a pattern and follow the directions, including basting.

It was nearly impossible to get the girls to stop twirling in the dresses that Eric made.

The straps I originally sewed on, did not work out.  I'll find something to use before they wear them out of the house. Again, the girls didn't want to stand still.

I wish that I had that talent. I can barely figure out how to thread the machine.

oh i love the dresses. I love sewing too, but I have to admit i dont have too much under my belt yet. A few quilts, baby blankets, but I would love to start on some clothes and see what I can do.

Way to go you two! I love to sew and was just thinking last night I need to make a dress for Maddie. I bought some really cute black and orange striped tights, but can't find a plain black dress.
Those are cute dresses!
