Best day of their lives

Saturday I had the opportunity to bring dreams come true, and what mother wouldn't love to do that for their kids?  Most nights after they are tucked in bed, I go through my list of all I failed to do with them: watch 100 more cartwheels/handstands/kick overs, or sit and color and work on penmanship, should have made more time for board games, cuddles and tickle fights. I think of the patience I ran out of and vow to do better.  I vow to clean the floors, windows, bed rooms and more, tomorrow will be a better day, with more patience on top of it all.  So quickly, it becomes a vicious mind game cycle.

However, this Saturday was different.  This Saturday I had the opportunity to take the girls to a horse camp.

And the girls where in heaven!

They had craft time, made posters for the troops, colored on canvas bags and took home bandanas and posters.

The only disappointment the girls had, no unicorns.  Overall, they want to live there!  I am so grateful for the affordable opportunity that this is, and I KNOW we'll be heading back to the next one!

The little guy wasn't left out of the fun.  He conned his Sunday School teachers into taking him to the train museum. They didn't realize his obsession (to say it mildly) with trains.  They actually feared the protest that was sure to come with time for leaving.  They were saved by a passing firetruck with its siren on.  That perked his interest enough to go check that out.  It was also national train day, boy is he good!  Don't let his age fool you, or he will fool you!
Friday night, he won the cake walk!

To top off Saturday, when we got home from our day of adventures, one of the baby eggs had hatched while we were gone!

To have brought such joy to the kids was a wonderful way to spend Mother's day weekend! I pray that these are the days they remember. Not the exhausted, patience gone, house thoroughly lived in days we have.
