a disagreement

Okay, I'm going to let you all in, I have been having a disagreement, a fight, a stare down this week.  With my camera.

See last Saturday the girls had a gymnastics showcase.  I took a couple of pictures after the showcase along with video of each of their events.  When I imported them, the camera would  not release half of the videos.  I have 4 videos stuck on the memory card.

On Monday I called to several places, explained the situation and each place informed me that yes they could help me.  I started at the store closest to me.  After 45 minutes of trying, they realized with their new machines, they no longer could transfer videos.  They called another branch who said yes they could help me. I drove there only to find the exact same machines I had just left.  I went to one more store, who said they could help me but it would probably take about an hour to accomplished and I was now running out of time for that hour of processing time and picking CJ up on time from gymnastics.  I got there and was greeted with yet again, the same exact machine that cannot help me.

As moms know, often the hardest part of the day is the 4pm -7pm time frame. It is the end of the day, cranky kids, especially if one is 2 yrs old and has not napped, and it is hitting that hour of tummy rumbles.  This was my Monday while running around trying to get my camera to free the videos.

I was ready to sit in the outdoor furniture department and just cry.  No, it is really not that big of a thing.  Over the years, I'm sure we'll have many more opportunities to video tape the kids doing marvelous things.  It was just feeling like I was at a dead end and all I wanted to do was share with grandparents and friends.

However, this week has been filled with really good news. For example, on Saturday my cousin Jamie welcomed a baby girl into this world. On Monday my cousin Kathy, and Jamie's sister, welcomed a baby boy into this world. I got that call as I was trying to not cry at the store.

One of my containers I recently bought and fell in love with broke, but this week the company not only replaced it, but also shipped it to me!  That made my day too!

I have had great conversations with friends, and that always lifts the spirits.

Yesterday K-monster showed of new skills, he climbed on top of the AC unit and then in the afternoon he climbed to the top of a neighbor's pergola.  No pictures (I'm fighting with the camera right now). This morning he moved a chair, placed a box on the chair an climbed as high as he could into the pantry.

So I haven't been blogging, I've been in a bit of a funk.  I know you guys don't want to hear about that type of stuff, so I remained silent.  I am now going to go put my leg up and ice my ankle, I rolled it good yesterday and tonight we have a school function, tomorrow horse camp...I need to be mobile.

I will also figure out some sort of truce with the camera.  Maybe, for Mother's day, a new camera is in order. . . . . .

Cameras are so fun. I hope you win the fight by laying to rest the other camera. Maybe it can become Sweetness' photographic impetus.
