When we returned from our trip, the little nest of 3 eggs was being guarded by momma. However, it was no longer a nest of 3. . . .
There are now FIVE eggs! One, I am guessing the one to the side and no longer in the nest, is from the second batch of eggs. There was one that didn't hatch, and one that is kicked out of the sat upon nest, I'm no eggspert (hahaha) but I don't think that one will watch. The other four eggs would be batch 3 and 4. I'm beginning to wonder if there is more than one momma using our nest at a time...if it is a community effort.
Mostly, it feels like we should get chickens.
Eric doesn't want chickens.
But I keep looking for ways to sway him. And random successful nests of eggs in our yard, seems like a wonderful opportunity.
Can't wait to get a glimpse of the new little chicks! The kids are excited too.
The kids want chickens as well.
Can we get chickens?

My vote is yes.
If you have chickens, then you have chores everyday. You have to stay home. No trips to Iowa. I vote no!
