The season of advent is all about preparing. I took an afternoon to prepare for Advent. Crazy isn't it. I am already thankful that I did though!
See at the moment we were on schedule for our "little" 2 week project. We felt we needed to really spend a day with the kids knowing that our project was about to hit full force. So we spent a Sunday afternoon playing Monopoly -the kids' new favorite game, they call, "the Money game" and making a batch of cookies.
These cookies will be featured on the Richards' blog soon and I will post a link at that time. But here is a sneak peak.
All I can say is YUM!
And I don't care so much for chocolate cookies most of the time. AND I really don't care for mint at all. But these cookies are YUM!
By spending the day as a family enjoying ourselves we were all ready for the new week to start. And I had a double batch of these cookies in my freezer! -Minus the ones we sampled to ensure they were safe for consumption. And on a couple of long work days, it was wonderful to be able to pull out cookies to give ourselves a little reward and pick me up in the afternoon!
This year I found myself not really prepared at all for Advent (Or that Christmas season quickly approaching) I did take advantage of a wonderful afternoon to have something prepared ahead of time. Little things can really make a day!
